About FGS Longview internships:
FGS Longview is seeking highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented students for a full-time summer internship. As an intern in our Toronto, Calgary or Vancouver offices, you will have the opportunity to work on accounts across strategic, corporate, and financial communications, and gain hands-on experience working alongside our teams of dedicated and creative communications professionals. Interns will also have the opportunity to connect with the broader community of FGS interns spanning North America. This is a 10-week paid internship ($22.00 hour) beginning on June 4th and ending August 9th that will require you to work a hybrid schedule in Toronto, Calgary or Vancouver.
As part of the intern program, you will:
- Monitor relevant developments in government and media coverage spanning multiple industries
- Support various account teams working to advise clients on mergers and acquisitions, profile raising, crisis, litigation support, and other mandates through drafting high-quality work products
- Research emerging issues and policies to inform advice provided to clients
- Take part in a mock new business pitch collaborating with interns across North America to develop a strategy and pitch for a hypothetical new assignment
- Learn about the many facets of what we do, including crisis and issues management, government affairs and policy, strategy and reputation, and financial communications
- Participate in ongoing internal training and information sessions
- Work collaboratively with internal experts, our clients and other advisors to develop holistic approaches to complex problems
Requirements:
- Recent graduate or student in the final year of undergraduate studies
- Strong writer and editor
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Interest in and enthusiasm for business, strategic and corporate communications
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Eagerness and desire to learn
Additional assets:
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva or other graphic design and production tools
- Experience using data analysis and visualization tools
- Ability to work in the French language

High-achieving interns may also be considered for further full-time or contract employment after the internship program.
