Martin Cej

Martin Cej is a Partner in the Calgary office. Prior to joining Longview, Martin was the Assistant Vice-President of Public Affairs and Communications at CP Rail during the company’s multi-year transformation under the leadership of CEO Hunter Harrison. At CP, he oversaw external, internal, corporate, and community relations, as well as marketing and advertising. Martin has directed communications strategies around M&A, leadership transitions, labour negotiations, regulatory shifts and reputational challenges. Before CP, Martin spent 20 years as a financial journalist, including time as Managing Editor and an anchor at the Business News Network, Investment Editor at The Globe and Mail, Global Markets Editor at MarketWatch and an economics and markets editor and reporter at Bloomberg News. Marty has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, and completed an additional year of postgraduate work in Shakespeare studies at Bristol University.
